Meet Brent W. Kay, M.D.

Board Certified in Sports Medicine and Internal Medicine, Dr. Kay served as the CEO of OUCH Sports Medical Center for nearly two decades. He received his undergraduate and M.D. degrees at the University of Oregon and Oregon Health Sciences University, followed by Internal Medicine residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center and Sports Medicine training at OASIS Sports Medical Group in San Diego, CA. He worked as an assistant Professor of Medicine at Loma Linda University School of Medicine for a ten years and lectured nationally on Sports Medicine topics.

During his 30 years of practice, he has provided care for well over 100 World Champion Athletes across a wide range of sports, including football, cycling, mixed martial arts, baseball, triathlon, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, and running. As a professional team owner, his athletes have won seven Olympic medals, nine professional World Championship titles, and have set multiple world records. 

His understanding of the physical, emotional, and crippling effects of injury and pain on the athletic mind, body, and spirit comes from experience. He has spent over 10,000 hours on the sidelines of an endless number of games and competitions, and is himself a lifelong competitive athlete and a professional, All-American, National Champion, and the winner of two World Championship medals. During his career he has suffered countless injuries and has had twenty two surgeries, including nine on his right shoulder.
